I'm Gauri — a writer, editor, and brand consultant based in Bengaluru. I've covered major Supreme Court cases, led teams of writers, editors, and reporters, built brand presence for companies. I also write personal essays about life and the pursuit of happiness.
I grew up asking why. My formative years were spent at an alternative boarding school where curiosity, nature, and self-reflection were as much a part of the curriculum as anything else. It shaped how I move through the world: looking closely, questioning readily, and assimilating with patience and care.
Law school taught me rigour. A Master's degree from Bournemouth University taught me independence — what it means to live away from home, in a new country, figure things out for yourself, and come back steadier.
Reporting on the Supreme Court of India taught me scale. For five years at the Supreme Court Observer, I had a front-row seat to history — Article 370, Electoral Bonds, and several Constitution Bench cases that will define this country for decades. I led a team of writers, editors, and reporters covering all of it, and learned as much about how to work and lead as I did about the law.
When I moved on, I wanted to build something of my own. Brand consulting felt like a natural extension — it's creative work with commercial stakes, and it asks the same questions I've always been drawn to: who are you, what do you stand for, and how do you say it well?
I also write personal essays — about life, about the things that sneak up on you, and about the pursuit of happiness.
Creativity is the thread that runs through all of it. It's how I write, how I solve problems, and how I try to make things that are worth making.
